Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the British actor best known for his roles in 'Kick-Ass', 'Godzilla', and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', has been declared the world's most handsome man. This recognition comes from an analysis based on the ancient Greek Golden Ratio, a mathematical concept that measures facial symmetry and balance to determine beauty.
What is the Golden Ratio?
The Golden Ratio, approximately 1.618:1, is a proportion that has been used since ancient times to define beauty in art, architecture, and even facial aesthetics. Leonardo Da Vinci famously incorporated this ratio in his Vitruvian Man, and today it is applied to cosmetic surgery and aesthetic assessments. When a face's proportions closely align with this ratio, it is considered more symmetrical and, therefore, more attractive.
According to Dr. Julian De Silva, a cosmetic surgeon from London’s Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, Taylor-Johnson's facial features were found to be 93.04% aligned with the Golden Ratio. This impressive score places him at the top of the list of the world's most handsome men.
How Was It Calculated?
Using computer mapping techniques, Dr. De Silva's team measured Taylor-Johnson's facial features, including his eyes, nose, lips, chin, jaw, and overall face shape. The width and length of his nose were particularly close to perfect, scoring 98.8%. His overall facial shape achieved a near-perfect score of 99.2%, while his beautifully sculpted chin was rated at 95%.
"His face scored highly in almost every area," said Dr. De Silva. "What makes Aaron so exceptional is the overall shape of his face, which is only 0.8% away from being mathematically perfect."

Aaron Taylor's Competitors
The ranking placed other well-known celebrities behind Taylor-Johnson. Lucien Laviscount, from Emily in Paris, secured second place with 92.41%, while Gladiator II actor Paul Mescal ranked third with 92.38%. Other stars such as Robert Pattinson (92.15%) and Jack Lowden (90.33%) also made the top five. Notably, Hollywood legend George Clooney, at 63, earned sixth place with an impressive score of 89.9%, proving that age has not diminished his appeal.
Idris Elba, known for his roles in Luther and The Wire, came in ninth with 87.94%, while Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan rounded off the top ten with a score of 86.76%.
The Secret to His Handsome Appearance
While his facial symmetry may have won over the Golden Ratio, Taylor-Johnson's fitness and diet also play a crucial role in his appearance. Standing at 1.80 meters and weighing around 80 kilograms, he maintains his physique through a rigorous workout routine and a carefully monitored diet. His personal trainer, Matt Hodges, has helped him achieve his enviable figure by designing a training regimen that focuses on strength and conditioning.
According to Hodges, Taylor-Johnson follows a training schedule that targets different muscle groups on alternating days. This plan, coupled with a high-protein diet, helps him maintain his athletic build. “He trains four times a week, and his meals are tailored to keep him in top shape,” Hodges said. During the filming of Bullet Train, the actor followed a ketogenic diet, though it caused him some discomfort on set. "I got all lean for this, but it left me with low blood sugar levels," Taylor-Johnson admitted in an interview with Variety.
The Future of James Bond?
With his striking looks and growing popularity, many fans have speculated that Taylor-Johnson could be the next James Bond. If he lands the role, he would not only be the most handsome James Bond in history but also surpass the scores of former Bond actors. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig, all famed for their portrayal of the iconic British spy, scored lower on the Golden Ratio scale, with Connery achieving 89.2% and Craig finishing last with 84.2%.
While all his features ranked highly, Taylor-Johnson's eye spacing (89%) and the gap between his nose and lip (89.6%) were areas where his score dipped slightly. Nonetheless, his overall score of 93.04% firmly places him at the top. "He would easily be the most handsome James Bond in history," Dr. De Silva remarked.
